Biography

Bruce Kim is a recent fashion design graduate from Lasalle College Vancouver. His interest in fashion first arose in South Korea where he grew up. Initially, his desire was to create clothes that he would love to wear but could not find. His curiosity for garment construction details overseas the development of his design ideas. He also has the versatility to oversee both fashion design and marketing aspects.
 
Bruce prefers working collaboratively with like-minded people. He believes this sparks ideas that could not come forth working alone. To this end, in 2017, he partnered with Aaron Pharness, to develop the brand, Goreboys. Their design process follows this mantra: inspiration – discuss – experiment. Together they create the initial designs. Bruce then works on pattern and prototype development, followed by fit development until their envisioned quality and style is achieved. Their first collection “Midnight Club T-shirts” was released with Young Yellow’s first mixtape of the same title.

The duo’s vision for Goreboys is fearless fashion designers experimenting with technical fabrics to design durable and desirable garments. With no fear of facing challenges and the curiousity to break orthodox rules, Bruce and Aaron hope to create exclusive garments
